Greetings from Melbourne!

Yesterday was Day 6 of the Great Expedition, and what a day it was! Went to the city late morning, and my friend Kevin took us to a little hidden place, St. Ali’s for a scrumptious brunch. We then headed to DFO for some shopping; JayJays had three piles of clothes, each piece going for AUS$2.50! We got delayed for quite a while there.

Our next stop was the Skydeck, 88 floors above ground. Lara and I were very much persuaded to try the Edge, which is a cube of glass that sticks out of the building. So really, it felt like we were hanging in the air and could fall anytime. Although the cube was tightly sealed and very secure, still it was creepy (Didn't help that they shook the cube a bit and Kevin had to nudge me when I was imagining how it would be to just fall). For our bravery we were treated with French crepes stuffed with chicken, beschamel sauce, and apple compote (not altogether) made by authentic friendly French natives. Merci beaucoup!

We were supposed to stroll along Sandridge Bridge that has glass panels of the Travellers exhibit, but right when we were in the middle of the bridge it started pouring heavily. We ran for it, but by the time we reached shelter, and I paused to take my slippery slippers off, we were drenched! Not five minutes later, the sun came out again. Talk about Melbourne weather! It must be fate that we shopped, for we had more than enough dry clothes to change into. Ah, when there’s a wonderful excuse for shopping!

We closed the day with chocolate, as it should be. Kokoblack is the chocolate haven, I tell you. Chocolate mousse, hot chocolate, and iced chocolate with two scoops of ice-cream in it! Thank goodness for the passionfruit sorbet to refresh our tastebuds between mouthfuls.

Conquered heights, conquered rain, conquered shopping, conquered chocolate. ;-)
Bonsoir!
